How to request quotes with email and CAD file attachments

Most online applications work together with other systems and solutions to help users design and customize products online. Therefore they almost always have to be connected to a homepage, e-commerce, ERP, customer portals and similar to do their intended work. But integrating to all your systems can take time and delay important feedback and orders from your customers.

A quick way to get started before a full setup is to enable a “Request Quotation” button that triggers an e-mail being sent. The email can then contain the customers chocies, a BOM and attachements like Quote Drawing and other STEP/BIM files that an online CAD configurator can create.

Choosing an email provider

Sending e-mails that actually reach the senders are hard these days due to spam and other abuses of the e-mail protocol. Therefore it’s important to choose a serious email provider service for your application and make a secure integration. We would recommend the following two

Microsoft Power Automate

Many companies are today using Microsoft services like Microsoft Teams or Office 365. The Microsoft Power Automate platform is usually available with a single click and easy to start with for most users. After a process flow has been created both e-mail and teams chat integration is easy to do with blocks in Power Automate

DynaMaker has a plugin for Microsoft Power Automate so you can easily get started from your app.

SendGrid

Send-grid is a cloud service for e-mail and marketing via API. If you have an SendGrid account you can integreate with it direct from DynaMaker thanks to our plugin.
