When developing functionality in an app there are many design challenges for the developer. One of the most important ones that determines how easy / hard the entire solution architecture is to develop and maintain over time is how well each function / module / class that is created hides the complexity within.

Generating STEP-files from online CAD geometry
Would you like to develop a online CAD configurators that automatically exports STEP-files of your assemblies?

The CAD visualization in DynaMaker can be exported as step in two main ways:
- Lightweight direct export of everything you see as Step AP242 (read in the step export section of docs.dynamaker.com)
- Original file STEP export by swapping of lightweight 3D files with original STEP files via REST API (read about our Design Automation plugin in docs.dynamaker.com)
How to use 3D visualization files (.stp, .gltf and .stl) in your online CAD configurator
Do you already have your own 2D & 3D files? Then it’s very easy to reuse them in DynaMaker without remodeling them again. If there are parts in your product that remain unchanged regardless of the configuration (“static”), you can reuse your 2D & 3D files in DynaMaker for them, so that you can focus on parametric parts and others in your DynaMaker application. Learn more about this!

IT Map for Manufacturing Companies
We often get asked about the IT structure and systems needed to make product configuration and process automation happen. How are different parts connected to each other? Which departments in the company uses which systems? And how do they relate to the flow of products from purchase to delivery? Have a look at this IT map for manufacturing companies.
Start fast with CAD configurator templates
With the increasing demand for customized products, providing your customers with a web-based and easy-to-use configurator for your product is profitable in many ways. Instant quotations, significantly reduced strain on the sales and engineering personnel, and high-quality input for manufacturing are just some of the benefits!
WordPress plugin for CAD
The CMS platform WordPress is one of the most popular ones to build your homepage on the web. We thought it might be suitable to make it easier to embed a Dynamaker project direct on a WordPress homepage. Therefore we have just launched a plugin of our own to WordPress!
Integrations with SendGrid and Auth0
Most online applications work together with other systems and solutions to help users design and customize products online. Therefore they almost always have to be connected to a homepage, e-commerce, ERP, customer portals and similar to do their intended work.
As a fast and standardize way of connecting the applications your create with DynaMaker to these type of platforms we have now released plugins in the developer dashboard!
Develop a CAD configurator for the web
When working with an all-in-one cloud service like DynaMaker you can pretty much follow these 10-steps to develop your first CAD configurator for web, e-commerce or CPQ. All the technical aspects can be found on docs.dynamaker.com or by a discussion with our support team. The hardest part is usually doing things in the right order.

Management strategy in digitalized manufacturing
Are you trying to digitalize your business and leverage new modern tools for automation and IT? Then we have the tools and know-how to help you!
With so many new platforms, technologies, and solutions on the market it can sometimes be hard to find the way all by yourself. Therefore we have created a strategy for navigating this and collected a few cases on how this can be done in a proper way.
With a focus on having an automated flow of information, orders, data through the company and working with software and technology that develops at an exponential speed, we have collected a few cases that can be used for inspiration and comparison when setting your own management strategy.
Guidelines to start with
- Don`t reinvent the wheel – Never start from scratch if its not core business. There is a platform available for everything today.
- Ensure Accessibility – When everybody is using digital solutions you cannot have internal IT running around patching and installing for everyone manually.
- Fast feedback during development – Demand fast results to understand and test core concepts.
- Make sure the simple system works first – Well functioning complex systems can only come from well functioning simple systems.
- Modules instead of Monoliths – Decouple the IT infrastructure for faster development and long time maintainability
- Automated Checks – Make sure that old rules are still valid when developing new
- Performance – Make sure to distribute the load in a way that scales
The DynaMaker cloud service is designed to respect these guidelines and be a long-term puzzle piece in your digital ecosystem.
